Detox Diary: Tips for detoxifying your skin

Detox for skin? Does it really matters? Definitely yes!

Below you can see my skin detox routine and some smart tips on how to get started with detoxifying your valuable skin.

First things first, there are days when your skin needs a detox.  I see very often that my skin is extra dull or breaking out. This happens a lot after long vacations or after a bad de-makeup day(Don’t this to yourself believe me!). Bad food plays a role too.

Skin Detox simply means to renew and revitalize your skin to its normal look. Whenever  I feel that I need a facial detox I follow a one-week routine (or more) to remove all toxins and pollutants from my skin.

Time to glow!

TIPS FOR SKIN DETOX  (Thank me later):

Skin Detox Tips

#Cleanse your skin at least twice a day

Make skin cleansing a daily habit and be careful of the products you use. Personally, I prefer products that are natural and are water-based, for more hydration

#Be in love with mud or clay masks.

Simply because they draw out many of our skin impurities. Your skin will also become softer and more fresh.

#Drink more water

Perhaps this is the most important step for a skin detox routine. Hydration is everything to your skin. And if you want some extra detoxing power, add some lemon to the water. Lemons naturally promote healthy digestion.

#Remove the junk from your life

Skin is suffering when we repeatedly consume junk foods. Replace them with vegetables, fruits at least for one week and the you will be surprised by the results.

#Visit your Dermatologist

A visit to your dermatologist for a facial cleansing will have surprising results too. It is like the basis for a detoxed and fresh skin.

Always treat your skin right!

Vegan Stories: Can veganism change your life?

Vegan, veganism, veggie, vegetarian.. I am sure you are hearing these words a lot the last years. For many, are considered to be a trend that will make its cycle and then disappeared. For other people Veganism has become a way of living that they love.

First, I need to say that veganism and vegetarianism are two different things (I know that many of you, including myself, didn’t know the exact differences). So let’s first see how they are different and then focused on Veganism and its benefits.

A vegetarian excludes meat, poultry, and seafood from their diet. Some vegetarians also exclude dairy, some don’t, and some may consume eggs.

Likewise, vegans avoid meat, poultry, and seafood, but they also take it a step further by eliminating all animal products from their diet. This includes any type of animal milk and eggs. Vegans avoid foods produced using animals or animal products in any way, including honey. Many vegans also avoid household products, clothing, or other items made from animal products or tested on animals.

Veganism: Why is it a really good idea

For your health

Veganism health. jpg

Veganism are becoming more popular for the health benefits: increased energy, younger looking skin and eternal youth.

Well-planned plant-based diets are rich in protein, iron, calcium and other essential vitamins and minerals.  These help you definitely control your fat and health issues like heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

For the environment

Veganism environment

From recycling our household rubbish to cycling to work, we’re all aware of ways to live a greener life. One of the most effective things an individual can do  in order to help the sustainability efforts is to avoid all animal products. By the time you realize this and you start doing it you will really satisfied with yourself!

For people

Veganism people

Veganism  is the sustainable option when it comes to looking after our planet but is also a more sustainable way for a human family. It is time to adopt a more sustainable way of living. Avoiding animal products is not just one of the simplest ways an individual can reduce the strain on food as well as other resources.

Vegans are frequently misunderstood as fringe eaters with an unnatural passion for animal rights. While many vegans do feel passionately about animals, its time for others to see that a vegan diet and lifestyle go way beyond animal rights. It is just a different and a more natural way of  living that no one should be afraid to adopt.

Remember: Veganism is a life change, don’t just a nutrition habit!

To start on the right foot, here are some smart tips on how to detox your body:

1.First of all, watch what you eat

detox life

Get rid of any negative components that are harmful to your body.

Be inspirational and creative. The most important thing in this process is not to be bored to prepare your meals and your drinks!

Detoxifying is synonymous with creating a daily eating routine that you will love.

*Extra tip: Drinking a lot of liquids will help our metabolism process everything much faster. Water in particular, with a bit of lemon juice first thing in the morning, will help all the waste we have inside find its way out much easier.

2.Time to avoid sugar

Some people say that “We are what we eat”.Detoxifying your body is more related to what we keep feeding it than anything else. Thus, do not provide to your body unnecessary quantities of sugar.

Prefer fruits rather than sweets and put Stevia to your coffee rather than sugar.

3.Put Exercise into your life

detoxifying. jpg

In order to be able to detoxify your body, you need to put exercise to your life.

Apart from losing weight, exercise will also help you to stay fit, improve your energy levels and your blood pressure.

Thus, digestion process becomes simpler for your body.

Other benefits from working out include:

  • The release of endorphins, which are the hormones that allow us to feel joy and happiness.
  • More effective concentration.
  • Self-awareness

4.Choose Organic food

detoxifying. jpg

Aiming at a healthy lifestyle and  a detoxifying effort cannot be achieved by choosing processed foods. These foods lack all the nutrients that our body needs and replaces them with saturated fats, sugar, and chemicals that have never proved to help us in any way.

What you should actually do is to choose a healthy balanced diet full of colorful fruits and vegetables. Thus your body will be full with necessary nutrients that are coming from nature.

*Note to Remember: A healthy body leads you to a healthy mind. The combination of those two is a happy and energetic life full of peace and joy.

Every start is difficult, but remember to never give up!

Choose Detox as a Lifestyle!

detox lifestyle. jpg
Make your daily detox routine.

Many of you might have wondered about Detox and it really is.

Detox is something that many people do to lose weight, to flush out toxins to improve health or to jump-start a healthy eating plan.

In simple words,  detox can  definitely add a general boost and more energy into your life.

But you might ask how it achieve this?

The answer is through a continuous and internal process of cleansing and neutralizing of body toxins.

Toxins in simple terms are substances that can harm us and our daily body functions. The result of our body containing high levels of toxins is poor health.

Unfortunately, toxins can be also produced by stress, internal thoughts and emotions.

So, these are the main origins of toxins:

  • Fermentation – a common problem in the digestive system
  • Putrefaction & rancidity from undigested foods
  • Toxic thoughts and emotions.
  • Normal metabolic processes produce lactic acid, pyruvic acid and urea amongst others that have to be detoxified.
  • The detox process itself produces free radicals that are damaging to our bodies if left unchecked.

  • Inhalation – smoking, air pollution, dental amalgam fillings, sick buildings
  • Ingestion – chemical residues on food, chemicals in water, drugs
  • Injection – vaccinations, flu shots, tattoos
  • Absorption – chemicals from personal care products, synthetic fabrics, paints, plastics, pesticides and chemical fertilizers sprayed on lawns
  • Irradiation – medical x-rays, nuclear power plants, bomb testing, uranium mine railings, cell phones and towers, computer monitors and televisions, microwave ovens, and power grid and radio and satellite transmissions.

To choose a detox and a healthy lifestyle is a difficult task, I know. And one of the hardest things about detox or cleansing is really knowing what to do and what not to do.

Your present way of living will affect the process of detoxifying and that’s why you should change it completely.

Once you see the results of a healthy lifestyle you will never change it!
